Solid Waste Management Masterplan Gaza Northern Governorate

In order to be able to start the waste management activities in an efficient and organised manner, a Master Plan (MP) for Solid Waste Management in the Northern Governorate has to be developed and implemented. To carry out the required development work, GTZ has contracted the planning and engineering company IU.

To improve the efficiency and the performance of waste management in Gaza Northern Governorate, the three municipalities Jabalia, Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun and the village Om El Nasser formed a joint solid waste management council (SWMC) with its service yard located in Beit Lahia. On 29th of August, 2002 the “Statutes of the Solid Waste Management Council of the Communities: Jabalia/El-Nazalah, Beit-Lahia, Beit-Hanoun” were signed and the council went formally into operation.

To start the waste management activities in an efficient and organised manner, a Master Plan (MP) for Solid Waste Management in the Northern Governorate was developed.
