Credit Line for Solid Waste Management (CLSWM) German Financial Cooperation with the Philippines

To support the Local Government Units (LGUs) comply with the requirements and targets set in RA 9003 the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) established a Sustainable Solid Waste Management Program (SWMP). On December 30, 2003, KfW Entwicklungsbank and Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) signed a Loan and Financing Agreement for the establishment of a credit line for Solid Waste Management (CLSWM). The implementation of the KfW-CLSWM is part of the SWMP.

KfW-CLSWM consists of two components: a) Credit component, b) Technical Assistance (TA) component. In November 2004 a consortium, led by Infrastruktur & Umwelt, in cooperation with Bankakademie International and Woodfields Consultants, Inc. was commissioned to assist DBP establishing the Credit Line.
