How does climate change affect water management? Insights into a partner meeting of the EU project TEACHER-CE

The TEACHER-CE project aims to support local and regional authorities in Central Europe in adapting water management tasks to climate change. Therefore, synergies between established instruments, which mostly only consider single aspects of adaptation to climate change, will be activated and combined in a new tool.

In this context, INFRASTRUKTUR & UMWELT is developing basic input for the conceptual framework of this tool and is responsible for the coordination of the project activities of the work package.

Peter Heiland and Anna Goris presented the current findings from the work at a three-day project meeting. Firstly, they introduced interim results from the evaluation of existing instruments in the field of climate adaptation. On the other hand, they discussed how climate change affects various fields of action in water management and what adaptation needs exist. The derived conclusions will be considered in the development of the instrument in the TEACHER-CE project.

INFRASTRUKTUR & UMWELT is one of twelve project partners in the TEACHER-CE project, which is funded by the European Commission within the framework of the cross-border cooperation programme INTERREG.
