"Renewable Energy Regions": 3rd working group meeting in Doetinchem and Arnhem, NL

In the INTERREG V B project RegEnergy - Renewable Energy Regions - 9 project partners from Northwest Europe are developing partnerships between urban and rural areas: Producers of renewable energy from the surrounding countryside provide energy or heat to urban consumers, enabling them to cover their demand with regional renewable energy sources.

In the 3rd working group meeting on 29 and 30 October 2019 in Doettinchem and Arnhem (NL), opportunities, challenges and solutions for the expansion of partnerships for renewable energies were further developed and jointly evaluated. The planned investments such as  the expansion of biogas networks and storage capacities were discussed with representatives of the regional authority, the Province of Gelderland. A site visit to a wastewater treatment plant and a paper mill, both to be connected to a biogas network, demonstrated the opportunities and challenges for the expansion of biogas networks.

INFRASTRUKTUR & UMWELT Professor Böhm und Partner (IU) supports the project in coordinating the content of the project activities as well as in financial and project management. In close cooperation with the project partners, IU prepared the events and participated in the organisation of the international meetings.
