"Renewable Energy Regions": 4th (virtual) working group meeting, hosted by PLANAIR (CH)

In the INTERREG V B project RegEnergy - Renewable Energy Regions - 9 project partners from Northwest Europe are developing partnerships between urban and rural areas: Producers of renewable energy from the surrounding countryside provide energy or heat to urban consumers, enabling them to cover their demand with regional renewable energy sources.

Initially, the 4th working group meeting on 29 and 30 April 2020 was planned to take place in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland. However, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the meeting was moved to a virtual space.

In the 4th working group meeting, the partnership discussed the progress achieved with regard to and jointly continued to plan the investments, such as the connection of PV installations to the grid or the expansion of biogas networks. The various sessions included discussions with representatives of research institutions, microgrid start-ups and private and public institutions, including the participation of a representative of the European Commission. A virtual site visit was hosted by PLANAIR (CH) where the partnership was able to gain insight in the progress at Y-PARC, where in a business parc an advanced microgrid with PV generation is planned.

INFRASTRUKTUR & UMWELT Professor Böhm und Partner (IU) supports the project in coordinating the content of the project activities as well as in financial and project management. In close cooperation with the project partners, IU prepared the events and participated in the organisation of the international meetings.
